I love this site. The remix of animation and music created anime music video recalls many of my favorite animations. I can see the story from different people's perspective. Maybe this can be a way to learn to interpret images or stories different. It is also interesting to see those animations translated into English or add English music subtitle. I feel familiar with the animation, but at the same time they are stranger to me in English.
I like your idea that this site could be a tool to interpret images or stories differently. Seeing the videos gives some insight as to what the viewing is thinking or valuing in the anime by what they emphasize in their creation.
My AED 303 classes used this site when they created iMovie projects. They used the music remixes licensed under Creative Commons, but didn't necessarily contribute to the remixes.
Jen, I introduced this site briefly last semester to my 303 students also. I would like to make creative commons and remix a more intentional part of our video production assignments this semester. There is a lot of good media available on ccMixter.
