WordSift is a tool that was created primarily for teachers. Mainly, think of it playfully - as a toy in a linguistic playground that is available to instantly capture and display the vocabulary structure of texts, and to help create an opportunity to talk and play with language.

Juxio [juhk-see-oh]: From juxtaposition, the placement of two or more elements together to create new meaning. Juxio is a new visual way to communicate. Individuals and businesses use Juxio to combine images, text and more into mashable, visual streams called Juxes to share across social media and in print. Juxes are created on both our Web and iPhone apps. In the future we will support additional mobile devices. By making Juxio available anywhere at any time, we hope you find more ways to create new meaning.

Rather than drawing a comic from scratch, Comicbrush lets you mix stock artwork from our fun collection of comic backgrounds, characters and props with photos of your friends, neighborhood or college.You can add speech balloons, text, your own artwork and more, before publishing your comic to the Web, social networking sites like Flickr, Facebook and MySpace, or a friend's iPhone/Touch.

With the Picture Mixer, you can merge pictures and text into 3D scenes such as billboards or fluttering flags. The Picture Mixer helps you get started using Blender (a free and open 3D graphics tool) to make interesting pictures and animations. We collect basic 3D designs and let you customize them and preview the results quickly online. When you are happy with how things are set up, we'll run blender and generate a nice high-quality result for you. If you would like to try your hand at Blender yourself, you can download the design and play around with it as you like.

Clicking any of the icons provides the information about the image. Use the links below the image to select a size that you will use in the next screen to when you click "Edit Image". Editing tools allow you to crop and image, add text, draw lines and borders. The nice feature of this tool is that it automatically embeds the credit line into the image if you click the "Add Attribution" button.

Share & uses only Flickr images. Book may have as many pages as you want. PLUS: embedded search feature only searches Creative Commons MINUS: Cover page, the title is a fixed location. Inside pages are static in terms of layout - image on top; text (not sure the limit on # of characters) along the bottom. From what I can see, the search only results in a limited number of images from Flickr. Also, I do not see a citation section, so am not able to properly cite the images used. You can send your completed 'book' as an email attachment or embed it into a blog/webpage. NOTE: Once you click 'Publish' there is NO going back to edit.
