Some effects available: Photo to Sketch, Alien Vision, Amazing Goo (this one allows you to click & drag your mouse to 'morph' parts of the image) NOTE: Though most effects are free, there is a paid Pro version which "As a member, you get access to the latest effects, additional image hosting storage, and option to save high resolution images (where supported.)". Can upload jpegs, gifs & pngs NOTE: Who owns the coypright on the generated images? For all effects, other than Museumr and Celebrity Paparazzi, the owner of the original photo is the owner of the processed result.

Share & uses only Flickr images. Book may have as many pages as you want. PLUS: embedded search feature only searches Creative Commons MINUS: Cover page, the title is a fixed location. Inside pages are static in terms of layout - image on top; text (not sure the limit on # of characters) along the bottom. From what I can see, the search only results in a limited number of images from Flickr. Also, I do not see a citation section, so am not able to properly cite the images used. You can send your completed 'book' as an email attachment or embed it into a blog/webpage. NOTE: Once you click 'Publish' there is NO going back to edit.

This program will explore the connections between visual literacy and information literacy. Examples of textual, visual, and hybrid resources will be examined in light of the standards developed for both literacies in order to discover the intersections between the two and ways to teach in an environment where both words and images convey important meanings.
