This website is useful for finding careers in video game design and development. It shows you what being a game design tester, animator, producer, and video game designer is like. It also has interviews from video game designers themselves. If you want a career like this when you grow up, you should consult this website first before deciding anything.

This is a viable resource because it gives you 7 ways to improve every game. It is valuable because I wouldn't want to make a blueprint on paper. I always thought it should be digital. 

This site gives you, the creator, some ideas of what the player will most likely feel when they are playing your game. It also encourages you to be creative and try to think out of the box. In general, I think that this website is helpful in a lot of ways. Hope you find it useful too!

Gimp is a pretty popular free paint tool. This artist creates brushes for Gimp and Photoshop. There are dragon, planets, butterflies, plants etc... It's very very useful for creating backgrounds and sprites. All brushes are free and no-credit (read the ToS though).

Use the free Sprite Maker tool to create your own sprites. It is really easy to use and you can very quickly create a character with his own unique outfit. You will be creating your own sprites in seconds. When you have finished customizing you can export out your sprite and use it in your game.

Thanks to Jacob for this site with links to 3d animation resources... An Introduction to 3D 3D models are created by manipulating polygon meshes and molding them into objects, characters and scenes. Even if you don't have formal art training that goes beyond the few classes you took in high school or college you can still do great work in 3D.

There are many sprite sites out there, and many of them have sprites others don't. So, to save you the trouble of googling multiple sites for a specific sprite, I'm posting a THIRD sprite site. I know of a couple more, too. This one is great because they copied the sprites from their favorite videogames. There are many users, all posting sprites!

This user on youtube has a great library of sound effects! To obtain a particular sound effect, go on its video, copy the url, then go on http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ and paste the url there, and download the MP3 version that you can then edit in Audacity and put into your game!
