You can create a two, three, or four panel comic strip on this site. It offers a variety of characters, emotions, thought and talking bubbles, objects and scenes. I created a three panel comic strip on this site and enjoyed it very much. It is fairly simple to use but probably would work best with upper grades - third or above.
This is an interactive site which allows children to make movies, draw pictures, create stories and cards, as well as spell words to match pictures. I went on the site and created a very short movie and found it to be very fun. This site is free to educators and their students once registered.
I also read the article "The Creativity Crisis" and found it very interesting. The article ends with describing how the mind of a creative person works and the connections they make. There are methods, which I will need to research, to help all students think creatively. This is something that I am going to try to find out more information on so that I can help out the students within my classroom to become more creative thinkers as well as myself.
This site offers links to numerous articles and magazines dealing with the topic of 21st century learning. I read an article that focused on the community being involved in the education of its young people. That it has to become widespread and for this to take place, this is something that will need to be looked at as a long-term goal.
