This is a phenomenal exhibit experience in France that I have had the please of visiting. Inside a hollowed out mountain, art images are projected at monumental scales and animated as well. Music accompanies the images to create a completely immersive experience. I truly cannot explain how magical the Carrieres are and I definitely represents the ever widening boundaries between how we interact and appreciate art and technology.

The Whitney Biennial offers an insightful and introspective look at culture and society in 2017 through its various themed collections. Instillations commenting on the social-media-obsession and paintings illuminate issues of censorship scattered throughout the exhibition. Controversial topics like police brutality and student debt are also tackled in art pieces, such as the series of works on debt by Occupy Museums and THE TIMES THAY AIN'T CHANGING, FAST ENOUGH! piece by Henry Taylor on the fifth and six floors respectively.

ArtStack is a social media platform that allows users to find, share, and discover art, architecture, design, and video. The platform is very similar to that of Pinterest in which users can follow artist they like, comment on images, and create art stacks which are similar to boards on Pinterest. This is a great platform for artists and art enthusiast who want to share there interests with others.

An excellent article about using technology and the arts to assist students with learning disabilities grasp concepts and make connections in academic subjects. Several sources of technology applications are also included. This piece is very relevant for me and for the work that I do with students who learn "differently".

Researchers at Johns Hopkins conducted a study on the neuroscience of creativity and our response to art. They have established a new field called "neuroaesthetics." The BSI website is really a thing of beauty: http://www.brainscienceinstitute.org/

Very interesting, it seems to me that these scientists are looking beyond the aesthetics of art towards it use as language or even medicinal. Look at an Escher and a Klimt and call me in the morning :)

The ability to create art and to think creatively is something that truly sets us apart yet they still know so very little about how it occurs in the brain. What exciting and important research!

This site shows how ballet and opera meets technology in its presentation of the art in HD in cinematic form. A new ballet uses video live-stream technology to get two different ballet schools, with students from 18 different ballet schools, in two different parts of the world to create a joint performance at the same time. This is a pretty great experiment and experience for the students. I would say it's a rather unique experience. But maybe it will become the norm?

Deaf artist Christine Sun Kim uses different forms of sound to create her art. Because she cannot hear, she uses many high pitched or unnerving noises to push the boundaries of sound art.

This is a look at some videos demonstrating live action art exhibits. I like the 'laser cave' installation the most. None of these would be possible without the use of technology.

There is much discussion about the manipulation of photographs using computers.  But as this exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art demonstrates, photo manipulation dates back to the 1800's.  So, is the method of manipulation actually relevant, or are computers just another step in a long history of the technological evolution of the medium?

This is a great article about art apps. The one that interests me the most is ArtRage. It is amazing that a computer app can mimic the look of a real watercolor. One color actually bleeds into the next.

Art blends with Tecnology to produce a uniquely new art form; at first it seems too one dimensional, but subsequent artists demonstrate blending technical works with hands on art skills to make for an interesting new art form.
