IT Trends An Interview with the Center for Democracy & Technology's Michelle De Mooy To help school administrators, families, technology companies and state legislators sort through the patchwork quilt of state legislation on student privacy, the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT), an advocacy group, has developed a state-by-state survey of student privacy laws in partnership with the law firm BakerHostetler.

This page allows practitioners in service-oriented organizations-such as libraries, schools, community centers, community colleges, and workforce training centers-to find digital literacy content. These trusted groups can, in turn, reach into their communities and teach residents the skills today's employers need.

The U.S. Department of Education established the Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) as a "one-stop" resource for education stakeholders to learn about data privacy, confidentiality, and security practices related to student-level longitudinal data systems and other uses of student data.

An interactive lesson for students to think and learn about their online privacy as both a personal and societal issue.

Apple's Everyone Can Create series a phenomenal resource that I have utilized in the past. If your school is 1:1 with iPads, you have to check these out! The only thing you need is your Apple ID. The books lead you through a series of lessons/activities where you create a creative project and also learn tips and tricks (or a basic how-to) of the different Apple Create Apps. I have also utilized this with students grades 4-5. They were able to follow the directions and complete the activities independently. This is one of my favorite Apple resources!
