Can I Use That? A Guide to Creative Commons | OER Commons - 6 views

  •
This is one of the best Creative Commons resources that I have found! It provides a thorough overview of the different CC licenses in a variety of different charts that are easy to read and understand. It also breaks down commonly asked questions regarding the use of photos and attribution, focusing on Google's photo tools. Finally, it provides good options for online photos for teachers and students so that they are aware of and following CC licensing laws.

Free Lesson Plans and Games for Learning Civics however...unlike other OER's users may not change anything according to the terms of use. I would use this as a support for social studies units in upper elementary, middle, and high schools. Download free music under Creative Commons and other licenses. With the demise of Wisconsin Media Lab, we may need to start looking for other sources beyond Soundzabound.

An educator's guide to open educational resources (OER), including online repositories, curriculum-sharing websites, sources for lesson plans and activities, and open textbooks.
  •
OER, a part of the global open content movement, are shared teaching, learning, and research resources available under legally recognized open licenses-free for people to reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute. Why are OER important? High-quality OER can save teachers significant time and effort on resource development and advance student learning inside and outside the classroom.

21 Things 4 Students - REMC Home - 0 views

I checked out this site by recommendation from someone on the Future Librarians Facebook page and was amazed by how well materials were organized for teachers and are so user-friendly for students. I love the quests for the students and I think the printable certificates and badges are perfect! Lessons are intended for students in grades 5-9 and are ISTE aligned and free for use under Creative Commons license. I may be the last person to know about this site, but I can't tell you how glad I was to find it!
