Go to Khan Academy's Computing Hour of Code for complete sets of tutorials - great for 3rd - 8th graders. Here are 2 I'd like to try: Dana P. 1. Hour of Code - 10 yrs + Students program drawings with Java Script, but need good typing skills and working keyboards 2. Hour of Drawing with Code Blocks - 8 yrs. + Students drag and drop blocks of Java Script code instead of typing (this program is debuting in its 1st year, so may need some tweaking - includes a survey to complete. Each option includes: * videos and talk throughs - how to teach programing * coding challenges - students practice concept (program grades and awards points) * final project (creative way for students to use what they learned)
