I have never been a Pinterest teacher. I have an account, but only for idle curiousity. Then while researching curation tools, I was surprised to come across an article from USC called "14 Ways Students Can Use Pinterest in the Classroom." ( https://rossieronline.usc.edu/blog/pinterest-for-students/ ) I immediately thought about a large National History Day project our 7th and 8th graders do every year, and thought about how they can pin resources for their projects, and then provide a link to their board.
I also came across a curation tool called Wakelet that I had never heard of before. This one is attractive and free, but I have yet to use it in any capacity, so the jury is still out. I think Wakelet would be a great tool for publishing students' work in a safe and digitally secure way. I could publish their work, make QR codes of the Wakelet which links to the page, and students could share their work with families and friends. Publishing students' work has always been problematic due to privacy issues, and this will help in that area.
