This site is a collection of all the activities and ideas one teacher has collected over the past five years, available for your use.
This site is totally free to use, and I'll keep it that way. I have various amazon.com ads throughout the site for items, but it's not about making money. I had pictures of the items there anyhow, and this will take you directly to a page where you can buy it.
I've also created an on-line store where you can find thousands of used classroom materials for up to 90% off retail-all banner ads will take you directly to Sprout Classrooms for browsing!!
All PDFs were either created by me or obtained through teacher magazines, sites that allow free downloads for teachers and classrooms, or admired teacher whose ideas are given full credit. I have tried to prevent the problem of 'dead links' by pasting website information in word documents for perusal with the link at the top. This way if the original site is ever taken down, we have preserved the information for all-time.

Learning Links has everything teachers need for literature-based reading programs - books, study guides, audios, videos and more. As pioneers in publishing study guides for novels and picture books, our signature product, Novel-Ties Study Guides, sets a standard for excellence. With over 600 Novel-Ties in print, teachers and educators have come to expect, and always receive, serious, chapter-by-chapter guides that "talk" to students, and save hours of teacher preparation time.
For 4-6th grade students, here is a neat idea for celebrating and encouraging students to know and show their stuff - Mastery Club. Students memorize and recite fun facts.
This website is a great interactive and visual representation of the Human Development Index. Each country can be clicked on and information about that country's life expectancy, gross domestic product, and net primary enrollment rate will be displayed. Other information will also be given such as the country's population, and size. Another neat feature of the website is the ability to compare two countries in a head to head face off. The site will graph the information provided from both countries so easy comparisons can be made.

Create your own interactive stories, music, games, and art. My teacher had 5th grade students create interactive stories based on their research papers on Explorers. It was a great way for them to incorporate the facts they had learned into a technology display.
