article on culture and syncing...no more mass culture
  •
I don't really know how to sticky note things because when I got the toolbar it went away. But I completely agree with Giridharadas's statement that our culture is synced to ourselves and not the people around us. Things sync according to our interests and out life settings. That's what the whole purpose of syncing is all about, making our lives easier to navigate around and technology catering to our interests. I do not have a calender that syncs itself but i do have an iPhone that syncs every time I plug it into my computer. And there's the new iCloud that doesn't even require you to plug it in before syncing. I wish there still was a way for there to be a mass culture, I just don't think it's going to happen through syncing. That would kind of reverse the purpose of syncing.

Everyone who uses an apple product understands that we are synced to our interests and our schedules. I have an ipod and an iphone and I always sync them. This syncing allows us to access more information around us that we can use to better ourselves in some way. Syncing is a great concept that allows us to share and transfer information and without this ability, we would be faced with more tedious tasks than necessary.

Example of a blog with an argument. Also fits into our past food readings.

I personally feel that as long as advertisements are truthful, they should be allowed to post as they please. Children must have the control and discipline to choose the nutritious foods their body needs.

David Pogue's Review of the iPad - NYTimes.com - 4 views

I think the iPad is perfect for browsing the internet, playing games, reading, watching movies, and any other leisurely purpose a normal computer would do. I do not think, however, that it is sufficient when working with work or school related things. The use of any Microsoft Office program on the iPad is very dysfunctional when trying to get things done.

I personally believe the iPad to be more of a fun electronic toy. Using the iPad as a functioning tool for completing internet tasks or writing a paper seems like a difficult task considering the the keyboard you're given. I can only imagine that it would be similar to having to type on the iphone, which is hard enough as it is. There are plenty of other options that would function better in a work environment than the iPad. Also, the worst part about the apple products is that the flash player is not installed.
