-Terrible weather and extreme temperatures exacerbated the conditions of agriculture
-After WWI, France had relied on America for crops, but now could sustain themselves
-US had a surplus of crops (which lowers the price of the good)
-Farmers grew more crops (hoping to fix their problems) and ended up lowering their prices even more
