8. Immediately after the people are elected and assembled in the senate, they are equally divided into three subgroups or classes. They are divided into these classes so that a different seat of senators will serve every 2 years, staggering their terms. For example, the first class or group will retire their position at the end of the second year, and the second group will retire their position at the end of the fourth year, and so on and so forth.
9. To be apart of the senate, one has to be at least 30 years old and a citizen of the United States for at least nine years. Also, when elected, the senator may not live in the state for which he/she has been chosen to represent.
10. The vice president of the United States will be President of the Senate, but they will not be able to vote (for a law or something of that nature) unless there is a tie.
