Born and raised in North GA, this handsome singer/ songwriter decided to jumpstart his music career by moving to Athens, GA- the birthplace for both modern alternative rock and New Wave Music. Picking up local gigs throughout the college city helped him to catch the eye of country rocker Zac from the Zac Brown Band and land the opening act for the alternative country group most nights at the famed GA Theatre. Following in the footsteps of major music groups and artists to come out of Athens like R.E.M, Widespread Panic and the B-52's, to name a few, Eric has quickly built up a wide ranging fan base from screaming college girls to old school rockers.

Ghiche is this week's Up & Comer uPlaya artist! Not only can this Chicago native rap with the best of them but he also writes and produces his own work! Dropping beats at the young age of 14, Ghiche got his start in the entertainment industry performing at parties and events as well as making appearances in local Black History shows. More recently, he has gone on to showcase his talent booking college tours and taking on gigs at nightclubs and conventions throughout the Midwest. With a 'go-getter' personality and high potential, the young entrepreneur has already connected with and opened for big name artists like 50 cent, Soulja Boy, and P.diddy. Ghiche will be meeting with an A&R rep from The Deal Makers in Chicago this weekend courtesy of uPlaya for the chance to show off his 'superstar hood status' and take his career to the next level!

Master of mixtapes, this week's Up & Comer on uPlaya goes to "HG" ((aka Human Gorilla.) Using the streets as a stage to debut and perfect (his lyrical rhymes, "HG" is "hungry" for recognition and is on a mission to take his music from the Rap Undergrounds to drop beats with the best of them. The Second City's first-ever film BUZZKILL takes form of a dark comedy, following the life of a struggling writer, Ray Wyatt, who crosses paths with a notorious fugitive dubbed The Karaoke Killer, played by Darrell Hammond. uPlaya has teamed up with The Second City to find a breakout hit for feature placement in the film, and music artists have until November 30th to submit songs to uPlaya's free Music Universe Contest for their chance to win this amazing opportunity!

Hollywood Film Fest 2010 gives special attention to the "subversive comedies" in this year's lineup. With Indican marketing VP Randolph Hamilton helping to program the event, the festival helps to bring up-and-coming comedians and indie filmmakers to the spotlight. One of Hamilton's top picks was a dark comedy by The Second City, "Buzzkill," which features two star turns: Daniel Raymont as the neurotic lead and Krysten Ritter as a smart-ass young woman. "The interchange between the two reminds me of the best of comedies from the 1970s," Hamilton says, "such as 'Harold & Maude,' when comedy had teeth instead of just being over the top."

Wearing many hats in the composition and production of his own music, uPlaya's Up & Comer-HANIBAL- knows a thing or two about putting on a ONE MAN ACT! He writes, performs, and produces all of his indie/electro-pop mixes on one laptop, using a single mic, often in the recording studio of his apartment bathroom. Hanibal's music pulls from a mix of influences including The Postal Service, New Order and the Nine Inch Nails, and has been described as "the best 80s dance music not made in the 80s."

Representing Up & Coming uPlaya Artists on the West Coast are the boys of HAZEL. Rocking an appeal that is oh so CALI, this hot new group knows how to excite the imagination and tap into the souls of all who are listening. With super catchy lyrics, narratives that evoke emotion, and the chords to bring it all together, Hazel might just be on the brink of hit song stardom!

Brooklyn, New York has a new 'FACE' on the Hip Hop/ Rap scene- Face Tha Music! Another uPlaya artist discovered at the Deal Makers event last Fall, Face has been blowing up radio stations worldwide with the recent release of his hit single, "My Favorite Song," which features Patty Tyler. And the music video for the single can be seen on rotation across MTV, Music Choice, Fuse TV and VH1! More recently, Face Tha Music has been working hard in the studio recording with fellow artists- Vado, Jagged Edge, Skyzoo, and Duckdown- in preparation for the release of his newest mixed tape. Already endorsed by Hot 97's renown Hip Hop and R&B music promoter DJ Kay Slay, this mixed tape is predicted to be a smashing success!
