Teachers and students can find great math resources on this website, as they are customized and designed to suit people with differing needs. JumpStart has its own collection of worksheets for younger students.

Free math teaching resources that have been reviewed by other teachers. This could be used by teachers to develop teaching strategies and lesson plans

Free flash Games for language, grammar, vocabulary, and phonics practice. Kids can use this site to practice at home and even do homework assignments on.

This website has practice for language arts students for basically every grade, and it even has some pretty good tests and quizzes to take.

Why did I c hoose this? How will I use this?

Web 2.0 (2): This website contains streaming videos posted by featured teachers on various subjects and grade levels. There are core topics, question/answer, assessment, planning, etc. There is also a section for new teachers. This seems like a useful website for teachers who are more visual/auditory learners and like to receive information via video. The videos can be searched by topic, so as a future teacher, I could look for videos that are relevant to what I am interested in.

Web 2.0 (1): This website is so neat! I have never seen anything like it. You can create your own Avatar (Voki) by choosing its appearance, adding your own voice, etc. Students can then add their Voki to a PowerPoint, share it with their classmates, etc. as part of a project or assignment. Students can share their knowledge about a topic by presenting it in a form of themselves without having to get up in front of the class and present. Teachers can use it, too, to share information. Very appealing to students!

Educational Games (1): This website is full of information for students, but contains a section on educational games for older students. There is a list of the Top 10 Most Visited Educational Games that deal with Science/problem solving topics. The games contain a rationale that must be achieved during play. Teachers can link the games to what is currently being taught in the classroom--DNA, cells, etc. This is a great website for unique games that can be used in the classroom that aren't just time-wasters.

PLN (2): This website is a resource for teachers to use based upon their interests and passions. It is a way for educators to connect with one another, gain new and insightful tools to use in the classroom, and support other teachers. There is a forum where you can post questions, leave comments for other professionals, etc. This is a good place to make a personal connection with others in the same field as yourself. As a first year teacher, this would be a good place to gain added support needed to be successful.

PLN (1): This website is a great resource to connect to other educational professionals. You can create an account and read blogs, attend free webinars on various educational topics (so cool!!), and it is completely free to join. I can see myself accessing this resource on a regular basis now, even before having my own classroom. This online community is simple to use and has received many awards for its content.

Choice (2): This is a great website for English/Language Arts teachers, K-12. It contains many topics to choose from with links to outside resources as well. There are study guides and other materials for students. There are also professional resources. Teachers can sign up for a free newsletter that contains information in the topic of English education. This website is linked in closely with Twitter and Facebook which can be appealing to 21st century teachers and students. I could get lost in this website because it contains some wonderful lesson ideas for students.

Choice (1): As an English/Secondary Education major, I use this website to read journal articles and look at relevant topics in the field of literacy, English studies, and Language Arts. This website contains a ton of information including lesson plans, activities, etc. You can become a member of the NCTE and connect in other ways if interested. There are professional development opportunities (conferences, etc.) that are available, too. You can sign up for email newsletters and updates which contain new information in this field.

Other I chose this website because it has many ideas that can help all teachers. It includes, lesson plans, class projects, teacher discussion, and many more. Teachers can use this website to find lesson plans or get into a heated educational topic. Also, than can use it for marketable purposes. They can find jobs and post items from the classroom online to sell.

Lesson Plans/Teacher Sharing (1): This is a useful website where teachers can go to share information with one another. There are over 4500 free lesson plans that are available for viewing on a variety of topics. There are also chatboards, teacher mailrings, etc. where teachers can gain information about topics that are of interest to them. As a new teacher, this would be a great resource to access lesson plan ideas from experienced teachers all over the world.

Physical Education (2): This website contains teaching materials to use in the classroom as well as valuable resources for teachers on a variety of topics in order to research new trends, etc. There are journal articles, lesson plans, worksheets to use with students, etc. This website is geared towards teachers and administrators. As a teacher, this would be a great place to find access to new and relevant information for the classroom.

Science (2): This is an awesome website for Science in the classroom. It is a great resource for students because it is eye-catching and contains a lot of "Why?" information that students find interesting and engaging. There are relevant news articles on a variety of topics. photos, book suggestions, interactives, and resources for teachers. This would be a great supplemental tool for teachers to use in the classroom.
