English/Language Arts Internet Resources for use in Elementary classrooms - 0 views

  •
I chose this website because it tells the reader wither it is a site for teachers, if it shows a power point, a quiz, etc. This site has many different resources for teachers to use in the classroom. I can use this site in the classroom, since it has worksheets and an alphabet book on the site for me to use with my future class. This site also has sheets that help with letter writing which will come in handy when working with Kindergarteners.
  •
This website is amazing and It has over 60 links. There are links to games that could be played for sentencing, wordplay, a letter generator, idoms (a concetration style game) and many more. There are also links to printable handouts and posters. Free books to print and even online short stories as well as tests children can take to assess their reading levels. This website has it all.

Apples for teachers is more then just a website it helps keep the teacher informed on all the new resources available for their students. This website is for teacher that teaches all grade levels in elementary. This site has fun activities do to with their students. It also haves new articles related to education, stories and research available to them by this site.
  •
I chose this site because of the unique topics they have. Things like Groundhogs Day, and Chinese New Years, which may fit perfectly into your lesson, but, may be hard to find material on. This site is also neat because it has games you can have the students play, or it has things like coloring pages that you can print out (which may work better if you don't have access to enough computers for all your students to play on at once).

History & Social Studies | EDSITEment - 0 views

Social Studies (1): This is a great website that can be used to gain lesson plan ideas. It is separated by grade level, topic, and how many class periods a teacher wants to spend on a certain subject. There are 400 social studies/history topics to choose from including both American and world history. Teachers can print off worksheets for students, get activity ideas, etc. It is very user-friendly and contains a ton of information. It is a government-funded website, so it is currently not being maintained due to funding shutdowns; however, a lot of the topics are still useful and relevant because the information will never be outdated.

A majority of them cover topics for elementary-aged students; however, there is a section for high school science as well. There are multiple-choice quizzes that can be printed that teachers could use as an assessment tool to test a student's knowledge before a subject is taught, etc. It is user-friendly and contains a lot of material for teachers to use.

Aplusmath is a website that gives the students a different way to ask for help. It has a homework helper. This homework helper allows you to pick what type of problem it is. Then it allows you to place your problem on to the screen where it then checks to make sure your answer is current or incurrent.
  •
A Plus math is a website that the students will enjoy but also a website that is useful for teachers. There are games that the students can play, even games involving algebra and geometry so this website could be useful for a lot of different grades. There are also flashcards and a homeworker helper. Teachers can use this website and print off worksheets for their students as well.

This website is great for math. They have worksheets for students to work on and they also have flash cards that you can use. This would be great to tell parents about so they can use it at home with their kids.

I chose this as a great resource for teachers to provide for students for extra help if the students need help on homework or the teacher can print out extra worksheets for students who do not understand what is being taught. I would use this in my classroom because it includes almost all math concepts that will be taught in all grades. For each concept, it includes a video, worksheet, and a textbook exercise.

This site is great for students who have any type of disability. It has games that work on skills such as fine motor, language and development. It has activities as well such as (what the website says) the emotions color wheel, which offers children a visual representation of their feelings, along with a facial expression, example sentiment, etymology and definition. I want to be a special education teacher so this site would be a great tool for me to use. Amber Koth
  •
This website would be good for teachers who need help with students with a disability. This website not only gives explanations of different disabilities but also has visual schedules for students. This website helps with social skills, academic skills, and behavior skills. I would use this as a guide and print off anything my students would need to help them.

This website has many games that students can use to improve on basic skills. This site also has sections that are designated for preschoolers, parents and teachers, and crafts. This site can be used in my classroom because students can play games. This site also has games that can be printed out and used in the classroom if a computer is not around.

Shutterfly is a place where teachers can create their own free website. It is similar to a wiki, but only people with a shutterfly account can access your page. This provides a safe place for teachers to share information about students with parents online.

Funbrain is another site similar to Cool Math. It has a wide array of games that students can play. These games are in arcade style for the most part, which I think students probably really like. Another cool part of this website is that there is a "For Teachers" section. It has tools that make it easy for teachers to find a game that relates to what they're teaching. It also helps you find activities based on different standards and grade levels. Funbrain also provides flashcards that they allow you to print for free so you can use them in your class.
