Splash math is a website that allows parents to access math games and practice for their children. It also can be used by teachers to give assessments and lessons for students.
Great site for giving multiple levels of math to your students. Teachers can give different levels to different students to keep them advancing forward.
Math: This site is built of lesson plans for all subjects but when I looked specificially for math lesson plans for 2nd grade, I found there were only 9 listed, and although that sounds low in # I thought it allowed me to think of other ideas around the same thought process that could be developed into more lessons
DR CATHERINE ATTARD put together this page that helps understand math lesson.planning and lesson structure, She invites you to join her blogs/Twitter feed/
I chose this site because its innovation intrigued me.
I would use this site to have students better understand the abstract concepts that math inevitably delves into.
I chose this as a great resource for teachers to provide for students for extra help if the students need help on homework or the teacher can print out extra worksheets for students who do not understand what is being taught. I would use this in my classroom because it includes almost all math concepts that will be taught in all grades. For each concept, it includes a video, worksheet, and a textbook exercise.
I like the Khan Academy because it says it is for kindergarten to Calculus. I used it to help study for the math portion of my CAAP. I like that it is so versatile and can grow with the student.
Khan Academy is one of the best websites because it has a variety of different subjects throughout all grade levels. I plan to assign kids homework and use the website when confused or stuck on a subject.
For this website you can chose any grade level along with the different types of mathematical tools. How would use this is my classroom is I can select the grade I am teaching and pick any type of activity for math to work on.
I like how this website gives the opportunity for kids to learn and complete math lessons and video quizzes. It is a great way to assign math homework or use for individual work.
I choose this site because it has Reading/Writing and Math games available for preschool through third graders.
This site can be used in my future classroom by having the students spend time on certain games during lessons.
Here is a good resourse for math teachers. This is good for all levels, elementary, middle and high school. It has standards, lists of conferences, and professional development tabs. This resource also provides more resources to help teachers succeed. It has a journals and books tab that shows teachers journals and other books to make them more successful. This website can be a very helpful tool.
I like this site because it has different activities that students can do to help improve in math or language arts. This site is very easy to navigate so it would not be difficult for students to get around on. I would use this site during centers for the students that are on computers. Students could work on spelling, shapes, or math problems.
I like this site because it gives you a variety of options. I'd probably just use it as something to put on my class website and let kids and parents access it as they need it. I could also point it out to students if they weren't aware that they could get help there.
I chose this site because it has a wide variety of topics and different kinds of sites. I would use this more as a fun or laid back kind of activity (like if you need to use up a day inbetween units or right before a holiday break). The kids could find a game or site that interested them and just crusie around. Or, to make it a little more involved, they could find 15-20 facts that they find interesting that they never knew before.
This websire is a great way to get student involved and excited about science! it is motly for older students. there are links to to an "electronic zoo" which then has a bunch of links to lessons on alot of animals in the animla kingdom made by teahers and students to be interactive and interdisciplinary. There is also a website link that would be perfect for students who are truely interested in science and teaches them about how math is integrated in science. There are also links to games that kids can classify critteres and a dust explorations.
AAA Math is a website for students k-8 and is good at getting practice problems to many different areas. There are multiple explanations as well as games and practice.
This website is great for elementary education because it contains 25 areas for younger students. It will help them with money, fractions, and much more. Each area includes an in depth lesson on the specific topic. I would definitely use this website because it has so much information about elementary mathematics.
I decided to use this as my Web 2.0 site. I wish I would have found this site earlier on my search. This site is amazing at the amount of subjects and just cool stuff to look at. If I was to do a Math lesson, then there are some fun games for that. There are also: english, science, puzzles, kid stories, arts and crafts, videos, and even experiements. I especially like this site due to the fact that it has a math section.
This is a great site to go to for educational games. It has hundreds of games for all grade levels and all subjects. This site could be used for free time, and the student could choose the subject and game.
I could use this website for more practice for the students. The website has language arts, math, social studies, science, math, spanish, and even holidays. This could be used for all grades. They are games and teacher resources. The website also has Brainteasers!!
Students can work on algebra, graphing, addition, and other games. The graphing and algebra games allow students to create pictures using different shapes and numbers.
Just as the URL defines it, these math games are cool. They are extremely interactive and give students a sense of reality while gaming. I would use this as a reward for a good week's class.
