This website is wordy but offers good insight into collaborative learning. It tells how to use informal and formal learning groups and other types of teams.
Helium is a social studies website. It goes in to a great deal of detail on American history, geography, current events, Native Americans, civil war, government and much more. It also gives you other websites to go to where you are able to find mini lessons on a president or resources related to social studies.
This website has many different things that may come in handy what
it comes to teacher math to elementary age students. This website
has math lessons for teachers, practice problems and activities for
students, math games, and it also has a dictionary. I found the
dictionary to be the most important part of this website. I feel that it
places the definition in terms so the students are better able to
understand.
This website is another great website for elementary Social studies.
It gives you articles on what is new in scholastics. It has different links
to different topics such as culture, government, states, and
geography. It also has fun things to do with your students and current
contests that are running.
This science website is packed full of information. It has links for all different types of science from chemistry to earth science. Something that I found very important is it have video clips with worksheets for all departments in science, lab ideas and lesson plans on how to teacher the lab to the class, images and photos, and games that can be played by the students as a way of reviewing and learning about the topic.
Hotchalk is a great website to find lesson plans for all ages. This website has a collection of over 4,000 lesson approved by other teachers. It is very easy to use all you need to do is type in a key word such as apples and all the lesson plans on apples will come up.
This is a great webiste for lesson planning. This site offers real lesson plans used by real teachers in the classroom. You can search for lesson plans and filter searchers by subjects or grades. I will use this to come up with lesson plans to use in my own classroom.
Learning for good is a website for all ages. It involves many different things that will include all types of students. They have games grouped into categories such as action, adventure, mazes, and sports games. The games are bright and colorful and help the student with hand eye coordination.
This website on using technology in physical education is great for embedding technology in health classes. This newsletter provides physical educators and health educator's wit the latest and must up to date information on using technology in physical education. It also informs you of how to fix a problem if one would occur.
Apples for teachers is more then just a website it helps keep the teacher informed on all the new resources available for their students. This website is for teacher that teaches all grade levels in elementary. This site has fun activities do to with their students. It also haves new articles related to education, stories and research available to them by this site.
I chose this site because of the unique topics they have. Things like Groundhogs Day, and Chinese New Years, which may fit perfectly into your lesson, but, may be hard to find material on. This site is also neat because it has games you can have the students play, or it has things like coloring pages that you can print out (which may work better if you don't have access to enough computers for all your students to play on at once).
This allows teacher to view other teachers teaching. Get feedback from others. It also allows a person to view multiple types of lessons in all subject areas.
This website has several links for activities going on in different classrooms. It also offers scholarships, careers, newsletters, and journals for physical education.
This website gives advice on how to measure students skills in physical education from preschool-high school. It also offers ideas for park and recreation and after school programs. It was kind of interesting.
This would be a good website for teachers to find different ideas for lessons. It offers multiple links to other sites that contain grammar and vocabulary work.
This offered some different ideas that could be used as fillers during down times in the classroom. The magic tricks would have to be adapted but it could work if the teacher was willing to take the time.
Awesome games for spelling, typing, phrases, etc. This would be a great website for students to work on at home or during downtime in the computer lab.
