GameScene Free Online Games: Word Spell - 0 views

  •
This is another Language Arts site. I chose this site because it is alot like scramble. I got addicted and was rushing to score points because I am really competitive and don't like to lose. In the beginning, they give you a list of letters and you have to scramble them to come up with a word. Based off of the difficulty of the word you came up with, you will be assigned points and there is a goal for you to reach at the bottom right corner. If you reach that score's goal then you proceed onto the next level. This game rocks!

This is a Social Studies site. I chose this site because of its lesson on Geography that so many students including myself lack. I was tested on the 50 states in high school, but thats it. Many Americans could most likely not find Florida or California if you gave them a map. Geography is an important education tool that seems to be losing its ground in the education system today.

Social Studies Games - Presidents & Vice Presidents | Learning Games For Kids - 1 views

  •
This is a Social Studies site. I chose this one due to its creativity. This game that I am bookmarking is an activity for the students to match up the presidents with his vice president. It is very accessible, they have instructions for you at the beginning and then you are off to matching up the president to their vice president. It tells you which ones you get right and wrong. The only problem I have with it is, it doesnt give any clues so I had a hard time because it has been along time since I learned about the presidents.

American Chemical Society - 0 views

This is a Science site. The game demonstrates all the chemical elements on the right side. If you need help, then there is a hint button on the left side to guide through the steps to finding the element. The goal of the game is to find the element in the house and you have three choices to get it right. This game is very helpful when teaching a lesson in science on all the elements in the table. There is a 3 minute time limit though.

This is another Math site. I chose this one because of the different way it could be taught to students. One of the games is to match the pair of balls that add up to 10. If a student is struggling with simple math, then I would give him this computer game and see how it benefits or hurts him.

Sheppard Software's Noun Explorer grammar game - 0 views

This site is a great lesson for language arts because it has games to go along with the students learning. Several students these days are not interested in learning and partly because teachers use lecture too much. By incorporating games into their lesson plan, students will be engaged and eager to learn.

This site is for a language arts lesson. It gives a definition for each language art word. Then, the site gives you a sample sentence and asks you to click on the noun. If you correctly answer it, then you get a point. There is a score board to help you see how you are doing. If you answer the sentence wrong, then it will correct you and explain as to why you missed it.

This is a Science site. I chose this because of the many ways you could approach your lesson plan on Science. This doesn't have any games for the students to play on here, but it does have activities to go along with the teachers instruction about any of the 8 topics listed here. If you were doing a lesson on snow. Click on the link that says, Let It Snow and it is for the 5th-10th grade level. Whats cool about the snow link is it gives pictures of how devastating snow storms can be for the streets and cars driving on them.

Favorite Physical Education Activities, PE Games and Warm ups For Elementary School Stu... - 0 views

This is a Physical Education/Health site. I chose this site along with the last P.E. site because they might be bare and not very attractive. I found this site very helpful by having a video to explain the game, 4 goal soccer. Along with the video, this site gives great explanation for how to teach the class and what to have the students warm up with. Lastly, this site gives some great games to be played with the 1st-5th graders and explains each game, which is always helpful.

I chose this site as my Lesson Plan/Teaching Sharing. This site has many options. You get to choose what country you want, the grade you desire, the subject, and if you want it in English or Spanish. I know most people would probably not care about the different languages or countries it displays. But, this is an imporant tool to have. If you have a classroom full of ESL's, then this site would come in handy.

Popular Social Studies Games & Puzzles, Grades K-5 - TeacherVision.com - 0 views

  •
This website is perfect for activities to use during or after a lesson. It includes puzzles and games such as a election vocabulary bingo which would have been perfect for students to go over now since the elections just happened. There are also crosswords on the original colonies or a Native american game. These would all help make a heavy lesson on learning about all the presidents or learning the state capitals alittle more fun.

Whether it be used when there is extra time and i need to have somrthing for the kids to do or just as a minni lesson, it has a variety. There is anything from reinforcing the alphabet and sounds, to creative thinking. I really liked one of the lessons called "Invent a Holiday" which is pretty much self explanetory but i know the kids would love!

All kids love the chance to get on the computer but it is important that we give them games to play that they will also learn from. This website has over 100 games for each grade level that kids will love and not think of it as doing math. there is a wide variety of choices and is a great place to send kids to.

Social Studies - Elementary - 0 views

This website is very helpful for social studies lessons. There are many mini lessons to choose from for every grade and lessons on geography, the government and american history. I enjot hand on activities in lessons and a few of the lessons suggestions include making a play doh map of your state or making maps. There are also instructional lessons like how to read a map or lessons on current events. This would be very helpful for an older grade level and to get more in depth on what is going on today.

This website would be very helpful for kids grades 2-6. There are no games but interesting videos to watch such as "food smarts" or topics to read about like friends, family, school, body, emotions and money. I think the kids would like this webiste because it trys to relate to them by silly doodles on the notebook, cellphones that have texts for them. it is different and yet another good website for them to go on during computer time.
