Classic D&D meets deck-building

I got my beta key for it last week. It's pretty fun. They've done a great job of mimicking the table-top game experience online. I like the way that a character is a pretty basic set of stats that level up as you advance, but that the real variability and strategy comes from the items that you equip your characters with in the form of action cards. So if you equip your mage with one wand, it will have 3-6 actions with it like lightening bolt or fireball. But a different item will have a different set of cards. So much of how you play depends on how you configure your items.

I mentioned HabitRPG in a previous Wednesday night meeting. It's a "gamified" to-do list. I've been using it for everything from remembering to drink more water to getting specific tasks done on my game. It's been one of the best, most consistent motivators that I've ever found for encouraging good habits and discouraging bad. The mobile interface is a bit wonky, but they're working on it. The web interface is really the best way to manage it. I recommend the mobile mostly for logging completed tasks.  One nice feature of the game is the wide community of others working on tasks. You can join parties and guilds, and work together with others to complete quests and challenges. 

This looks like something fun we should try out--another digital tabletop.
