Luckily for Twitterers, there’s Mr. Tweet, a free recommendation service that analyzes your current network to suggest new friends and members whose feeds may be of interest. Like the Shorty Awards and many other third-party applications that make use of Twitter’s platform, the company has no official ties to San Francisco-based Twitter, which allows people to post messages up to 140 characters in

I am floored to find 617 lesson plans using Twitter on the TES site. Some talk about social networks and society, advertising, etc. and others are recommendations for teachers, however, Twitter is increasingly becoming PART Of lessons and what we do. I think that eventually we'll have to make friends with social media in education just as we did with email.

WhoShouldiFollow looks at who your Twitter friends follow to suggest new people. By adjusting the sliders on the results page, you can give greater preference in the ranking to less popular Twitter users, or those who are near you.
The algorithm is an item-to-item collaborative filter, somewhat similar to how Amazon makes recommendations.
Ok, so what is Twitter and why should you care? First, let's start with what it isn't. Twitter is *not* about micro-blogging. Yes, it is described this way - yes even by it's founders. But they have also admittedly publicly that much of the innovation on Twitter has happened in the user base - the convention for retweets (RT), for example, came from the user base. For those of you who are new, RT is just a way to a convention for sharing a message from someone you follow to your own followers. It's sort of citation plus recommendation plus message all wrapped in a little two letter acronym.
Wondering to tweet or not? retweet or not? Tadvise can help you! Tadvise is an advisor and assistant for Twitter. It analyses your followers and also the followers of your followers and reports you if the tweet that you are going to send is interesting (or relevant) for them or not. It also recommends you several followers, who can efficiently retweet your tweet... plus more features... Tadvise aims to boost collaboration by encouraging users to (re)tweet worthy items and thus helping you to get only appropriate stuff.
Has anyone found multiple account switching especially useful on a device vs switching between say 2 Twitter accounts on a Windows 7 web Twitter software? 1/14/12.
the iPhone-only Tweetie, and turned it into this multi-platform must-have.
Meaning the iPhone-only Tweetie app is the best for Twitter use of all available for smart phones? (I am looking for the best software to use Twitter on Windows 7).
Twitter’s quality varies wildly across platforms. It soars on the iPhone, cruises along nicely on the iPad, and is about as pretty as a plane crash on Android

At the time of this writing, I have over 91,000 Twitter followers. No, I don't read every word they type. No, I don't recommend that you try to get 10s of thousands of followers...but here's how to manage the followers you DO have in a way that's mutually beneficial...
