Tweet Blender is tag-aware and has support for multiple authors, lists, hashtags, and keywords all blended together. Great post about the power of Twitter. It is almost so commonplace as to be trite. But it isn't trite. It is a very real part of a good teacher's PLN. Better than a search engine, the people engine of a giving, helpful group of twitters. But remember that in order to Tweet and receive, you also have to share and receive. You get back far more than you give but you should give not just ask. In short, be there for your tweeps and your tweeps will be there for you.

The Twitter #ideaparty is fun, once you get the hang of it. To get started, I just went to www.tweetchat.com, entered my Twitter name & password, then selected ideaparty to get into the chat room. Nice thing is that it then automatically plugs in the "#ideaparty" for you, but of course that counts as some of your 140 characters for a tweet. There is so much traffic already in the #ideaparty already on some days, I can hardly wait to see how it goes on the BIG launch day, Tuesday March 24, 2009, for the World Wide Rave for Wishcraft 30th Anniversary edition. Awesome stuff!

Lovely down to earth look at twitter for beginners. I like this: Kindness, appreciation, and generosity are very meaningful on Twitter, just as in real life. Come to think of it, Twitter IS real life with real people who think and feel.

This report "Tweeting for Teachers" says social media should be part of teacher PD. as much as I agree with that, if you just unblock social media, it doesn't mean teachers WILL use it for PD. Teach them how. Plus, expect pushback from teachers who don't want to mix personal and business. Although Facebook won't allow 2 profiles for a person, Twitter will and some teachers may want to take that route.
