Need sound effects for your mutlimedia project?  Soundgator.com provides a library of free sound effects that may be downloaded or embedded in a website.  You may be able to help students find sounds they need to complete their projects.

This is a "dump" for cool science-related videos. There are many good videos here that would be helpful in science class. Be careful, though, because some of these videos may not be appropriate for the classroom.

This short video would be excellent for prompting discussion or student research for 6-8 grade science students.  Be sure to check out the other great short videos from the "Its Okay to be Smart" YouTube channel as well.  Remember, students are not currently able to access YouTube from their devices, so you will need to project this video for the class if you want to use it.  

In this short screencast, a teachers shows how she adds voice comments to google docs when giving feedback on student writing. Pretty simple! The video is hosted on YouTube, so access from the faculty wireless network or an off-campus network will be required to view.

This is a powerful Prezi demonstrating the power of Prezi.   Very nicely done with a few really good tips about how to get started with Prezi.  Check it out!

In this student-created Prezi, the presentation takes the form of a traditional plot diagram.  This is an excellent example of how Prezi turns the traditional slide presentation on its head.  This is a powerful tool for students to demonstrate their understanding.

This Prezi on Number Systems by Petra Marjai illustrates the power of Prezi to present and explore concepts that are more difficult to convey with a traditional slide presentation.  

Do more than watch a video: discuss, question, and comment. Vialogues puts the "think and do" into video watching. Vialogues allows you to post a video and then invite participants to answer questions, discuss or just comment. This asynchronous tool can be used for private or public interactions. Tip: Use this tool with media literacy lessons.

Create your own "twitter wall" to project a back channel for your next PD session or event.   This site makes it easy to follow the conversation on twitter around a hashtag of your choice.   The Video-Twitterwall is also interesting, allowing one to embed a video from Youtube or another video service into your twitterwall

The website includes a growing collection of videos that focus on the Common Core State Standards, some of which focus on the background of the Common Core in certain grades/subjects, while others highlight instructional practices aligned to specific standards.
