LE: Dallas lead U.S. hotel construction pipeline in the second quarter - 0 views

    DALLAS LEADS THE U.S. hotel construction pipeline for the fourth consecutive quarter, according to Lodging Econometrics. Among brands, Marriott International led the pipeline. Dallas had a record 173 projects with 20,707 rooms in the second quarter of this year, followed by Atlanta with 140 projects containing 18,131 rooms, Los Angeles with 124 projects with 20,365 rooms, New York, with 113 projects with 19,238 rooms and Phoenix with 108 projects containing 14,964 rooms, Marriott had 1,355 projects with 167,034 rooms, up 4 percent by projects year-over-year, tops the pipeline during the period. The Q2 2022 U.S. Construction Pipeline Trend Report said that major markets and popular tourist destinations in the U.S. reported highest occupancy rates since the pandemic began in early 2020 in the second quarter mainly due to robust leisure travel, group, and international travel. New York City with 78 projects with 13,063 rooms, Atlanta with 25 projects containing 3,905 rooms, Dallas with 25 projects with 3,725 rooms, Phoenix with 23 projects with 4,955 rooms and Los Angeles with 22 projects with 3,606 rooms are the top five markets with the most projects under construction during the end of June. They account for 22 percent of rooms under construction in the U.S.

U.S. Hospitality Index Hits 108.2% in Q4 2024 | Top Growth Cities Lead - 0 views

    U.S. HOSPITALITY BUSINESSES reported a 108.2 percent year-over-year health metric for the fourth quarter of 2024, the highest in four quarters, according to the Hospitality Group and Business Performance Index by Cendyn and Amadeus. Tampa, Houston, and Miami led the top 10 cities in rankings. The index combines event data from Cendyn's Sales Intelligence platform, formerly Knowland, with hotel booking data from Amadeus' Demand360, covering group, corporate negotiated, global distribution system, and events performance, the companies said in a joint statement.     U.S. HOTEL PERFORMANCE showed mixed results in the second week of December compared to the previous week, according to CoStar. However, the industry reported positive year-over-year growth across key metrics, driven by the Hanukkah calendar shift and a shorter business travel window between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Occupancy rose to 59.5 percent for the week ending Dec. 14, up from 59 percent the previous week and 8.5 percent higher year-over-year. ADR dropped to $155.21 from $159.77 the prior week but was up 8.9 percent compared to the same week last year. RevPAR fell to $92.32 from $94.31, yet showed an 18.2 percent year-over-year increase. Among the top 25 markets, Tampa recorded the highest year-over-year occupancy growth, rising 33.3 percent to 84.7 percent. New York City reported the largest ADR increase, up 30.1 percent to $510.13.

Dallas Leads U.S. Hotel Construction 2023 - 0 views

    DALLAS TAKES THE lead in top five U.S. hotel construction markets in the third quarter of 2023, setting a record with 189 projects and 21,840 rooms, according to Lodging Econometrics. The top markets all saw growth in new openings as well. Atlanta follows closely with 140 projects and 17,775 Rooms, while Nashville comes next with 122 projects and 16,046 rooms. Phoenix recorded 119 projects, totaling 16,455 rooms, while the Inland Empire reported 117 projects comprising 11,784 rooms, according to the third quarter United States Construction Pipeline Trend Report by LE. New York City leads with the highest number of projects under construction, totaling 46, and 8,386 rooms at the close of the third quarter, LE said. Phoenix follows with 26 projects and 5,353 rooms, followed closely by Atlanta with 26 projects and 4,354 rooms. Dallas trails with 25 projects and 3,178 rooms, and the Inland Empire with 23 projects and 2,386 rooms.

Noble Acquires Two Hotels In Savannah, Georgia - 0 views

    NOBLE INVESTMENT GROUP recently acquired two hotels in Savannah, Georgia. The hotels are the Hampton Inn Savannah Historic District and Holiday Inn Express Savannah Historic District. Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Noble, led by Mit Shah as CEO, acquired the hotels because of their position in Savannah's historic district. The city recently was named Travel + Leisure magazine's No. 3 Top City in the U.S. and included on TIME's list of The World's Greatest Places of 2021. The 7-floor, 143-room Holiday Inn Express has 2,765 square feet of meeting space, a rooftop pool and the Port Royal Tavern in the lobby. The 147-room Hampton Inn has an outdoor pool, a fitness center and a business center. In the historic district, the hotels are near museums, historic landmarks, mansions, and monuments from the Revolutionary and Civil War eras. Both hotels are on East Bay Street across the Savannah River from the Savannah Convention Center and River Street shopping and entertainment area.

Wyndham, Reside launch 'Residence' brand in U.S. - 0 views

    WYNDHAM HOTELS & RESORTS recently signed a 10-year development agreement with Reside, a residential hospitality management company, to launch five residence-style hotels, either open or under development, in the Wyndham portfolio. The franchise agreement marks the debut of the "Wyndham Residence" tier in the U.S., with plans to expand across the top 50 markets. The properties will expand Wyndham's position in the extended-stay segment, along with its existing brands: ECHO Suites Extended Stay by Wyndham, Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham and WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham, the companies said in a joint statement. "Reside has a proven track record as one of the most successful names in corporate housing," said Amit Sripathi, Wyndham's chief development officer. "Whether you need a comfortable place to live for a prolonged time or you simply need more space while traveling with a larger group, Reside's model expands our extended-stay offerings, delivering premium, professionally managed accommodations in locations we know guests want to visit. Hotel Performance Dips as Hanukkah Shifts Timing - CoStar Report - 0 views

    U.S. HOTEL PERFORMANCE declined in the third week of December compared to the previous week, according to CoStar. However, year-over-year comparisons were positive due to the Hanukkah calendar shift and a shortened business travel period between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Occupancy, RevPAR and ADR all saw week-over-week decreases. Occupancy fell to 48.9 percent for the week ending Dec. 21, down from 59.5 percent the previous week but up 11.4 percent year-over-year. ADR declined to $135.79 from $155.21, reflecting a 2.7 percent year-over-year increase. RevPAR dropped to $66.36 from $92.32 week-over-week but showed a 14.3 percent gain compared to the same period in 2023. Tampa, driven partly by hurricane recovery demand, led year-over-year growth among the top 25 markets, with occupancy up 37.9 percent to 71.5 percent and RevPAR up 63.8 percent to $110.51. New York City recorded the highest ADR increase, up 20.1 percent to $351.39.
