This is soooo cool! Go in and check out the 12 minute tutorial video. You will not believe all that this tool can do and it's free. Not only can individuals create and share flash cards, but they can test themselves. You can also add sound to this tool. If you selecte the spelling option you can create spelling flash cards that use sound. There is a translation tool built into this for foreign language teachers or ESL teachers or for students learning a new language. You have got to check this out!

I like that this new version has a section on the process of digital storytelling 1-2-3. 1 is Outlining the Story Idea, 2 is Finding Your Media (with a ton of copyright free resources linked), and 3 is finally Picking Your Tool. Excellent resource!

bloomsapps - 4 views

"Using Blooms Taxonomy in education is a highly effective way to scaffold learning for the students. With the recent popularity and pervasive nature of iOS devices in school districts it is essential for educators to understand how to implement Blooms in the classroom using the apps that are available. While this list is by no means fully comprehensive, it will assist educators in getting started when implementing iOS devices in the classroom. This site will change almost daily as it will be updated with new and exciting apps! "

Don, I was really excited to see this. But, take a look at the apps in the Creating level. I think they prove my point that the ipad isn't a serious player, yet. If those are prime examples of what can be Created on the ipad, then I still say that it's not the answer to Education's persistant questions. It's a great personal device but not one for school.

Storify your English classroom - 2 views

"Our focus this term is a thematic study about power and greed, perfect as a lead in to out text study of George Orwell's Animal Farm. We introduced Storify to our students, with the intention of them curating resources of their choosing that they feel link to this theme. Storify is pretty simple to use; you make your stories by accessing tools of the social web that are handily searchable in a sidebar and can be dragged into your story space."

BlastFollow! - 0 views

  •
BlastFollow enables you to follow Twitter users who share your interests en masse. This is accomplished by searching for users who have tweeted with a particular hashtag recently. For example, if you are interested in ISTE 2010 conference, you may want to search for users whose tweets have included the hashtag "#ISTE10". This would be useful if you are using Twitter in your classroom for students to follow a particular class thread.

All content viewed on WatchKnow is hosted by other websites. I tried the one titled "Home Run" and discovered it was missing. So this resource needs to be viewed prior to accessing it during class! I enjoyed "Finding Perimeter". You need to look at this one!

Welcome to Debatepedia! - Debatepedia, Debatepedia the Wikipedia of Debates - 0 views

  •
Debatepedia is "the Wikipedia of pros and cons". Its mission is to "clarify public debates and improve decision-making globally". Debatepedia is a project of the International Debate Education Association (IDEA), a 501c3 non-profit. It utilizes the same wiki technology powering Wikipedia to engage you and other citizen-editors in clarifying public debates by centralizing them into a single pro/con encyclopedia. This helps you, other citizens, and leaders better weigh ALL the pros and cons, develop positions, and make more informed decisions, votes, etc... And this significantly improves democracy and people's lives.

How to Automatically Record Skype Calls - 1 views

  •
"Skype is a great way of calling people from all over the world. However, it lacks the call-record feature. One way to utilize this feature is to use the MP3 Skype Recorder program. This software can automatically record all your incoming and outgoing Skype calls. The output audio's format is MP3, so it's easy for you to listen and share the recorded call. You can use it as a podcast or as an instructional audio."
