Few people think of todays newspapers as tomorrows history books. But two history teachers have compiled reproductions of newspapers front pages to help students get a snapshot of events as they were reported.
This method allows the students to see history as an "in the moment" photo. Along with the headlines they can see local news, sports, editorials, and advertising. This offers a direct compare/contrast lesson on the time period being studied and current events.
