In reality, life in the Middle Ages, a period that extended from approximately the fifth century to the fifteenth century in Western Europe, was sometimes all these things, as well as harsh, uncertain, and often dangerous.

With the demand for 21st century skills in today's classroom, educators are feeling the pressure to prepare their students with the "skills of tomorrow," right now. Considering the rate at which technology is expanding, however, this goal can easily intimidate even the most tech-savvy educator. Never fear!

This lesson format allows for 21st century skills to be applied to research projects. It adds the element of computer technology to a cooperative research activity. By using graphing/tables/illustrations it can appeal to visual learners, adding an element of creativity.
