Parents have a long list of concerns about children using technology: Will they be hurt by cyber bullying? Or meet with online predators? Will their homework suffer because they're texting 100 times a day? Are they sexting? But what about a more basic question like, Will they be able to hold their own in conversation?

The explosion of social media has completely changed the way we communicate with each other. Whether via laptop computers, advanced mobile devices, Wi-Fi or enhanced 4G wireless networks, we are more connected than ever to everyone we know. Texting and the slang that goes with it have crept into students' more formal writing.

Here, we all need to collaborate and agree on one cohesive thesis statement which will be on the second slide and reinforced in the conclusion!

Janelle, I like you statement but I don't think we should include cyber slang because our topic was only about texting and that might not be very fair to Team A because they did not bring up cyber slang as much as Team B did. Other than that, I really like that thesis statement.

I agree with you Janelle. I do feel that Team A fell short of Team B. Although they did have some great information, like you said they were very stuck to their slides and did not really research deeper into their subject which I oticed when asking my questions.
