Collect, nurture, and share ideas across desktop and mobile platforms with Evernote. Your thoughts are always with you, always accessible, always in sync. Useful collaboration note taking tools and ability to save articles and clippings from Internet for critically analyzing sources.
  •
Short Description: Evernote is an IOS/Android compatible app that promotes collaboration as well as productivity. It allows for its users to take notes in various unique formats, ranging from text, sketching, photos, journaling, graphs, audio, video and my personal favorite: sticky notes that you can actually write on! These notes automatically can sync to every device the user is logged into, and can be shared for real time collaboration within a classroom - perfect for group projects and note sharing. And if a student forgot to write something down, they can take a picture of the board and have the photo scanned into their notes on the app. Examples for Uses: Project collaboration Teacher note sharing amongst all student devices Real time in class collaboration on documents and slides Readings can be instantly shared and annotated via App Students can pick note taking format that best suits their learning needs

I used to use evernote and then moved away from it. It has come a long way and I may want to go back to using it again. Thanks for bringing my attention back to this.

Education - MURAL - 5 views

  •
MURAL is a large, shared canvas for mapping content and ideas of all kinds. It's like a giant white board that can be zoomed in and out to see the big picture as well as the details. Electronic "sticky notes" hold individual ideas that can be rearranged, organized, and related to one another. You can add many kinds of web content, and team members can add ideas and content and then build on each other's by finding relationships and patterns. It has a number of educational applications, in science and other subjects: - Realistic labs, where lab groups define the hypothesis and methodology, and agree on the interpretation and presentation of results. - Any kind of group projects where students work together toward a common end product.

As far as I can tell, I expect that this is free for secondary ed uses.

Internet Archive: Wayback Machine - 1 views

  •
Short Description: WaybackMachine is an Internet archiving tool or "digital library" which may be freely accessed and searched by anyone. The archives includes Internet web pages, in addition to the digital forms of books/texts, audio recordings, videos, images, and software programs. Examples of Uses: Educators can use WaybackMachine to demonstrate the permanence of Internet activity to their students. Particularly with social media postings, educators can show their students that websites are archived and accessible in earlier versions, providing some insight and clarity to the "Delete" or "Remove" buttons that students believe are so reliable. In doing so, students can understand how difficult and impossible it is in most situations to erase their digital footprint.
