This online reading program can be used by teachers in order to encourage students to read and to make sure they are using critical thinking skills. The program has students win coins when they meet their reading goals. Teachers also are able to make sure students are understanding concepts by providing them with questions to answer after they have completed their reading. These questions will require students to use critical thinking to answer the questions from the reading, and held accountable for completing and understanding the information. This website engages students with interactive components, along with motivation to read and collect coins.

Since communication is so important when it comes to education, it is crucial that we are making sure to communicate with students both inside and outside of the classroom. One great tool for this is remind.com, which allows you to send students text messages without giving them your personal number. Announcements can be sent to an entire class in just one message, and they will get it right to their phone. This would be helpful to remind students of homework or to let them know what is going to be happening the next day. Additionally this allows for two-way conversations between students and parents. Remind also has a calendar that events or assignments can be scheduled, along with the ability to upload and attach files such as PDFs or presentations.

I think that I am going to further explore using Symbaloo as a place for bookmarking and creating a collaborative resource for my class.
