There are a variety of simple to complex computer based activities that allow students to experience programming. These tools support the national Hour of Code and Computer Science Education Week which takes place in early December. Students need patience, critical thinking, imagination and problem solving to successfully complete the activities.

Plickers are small cards with a QR type code that teachers can utilize with an app on their mobile device. Teachers collect real-time formative assessment data without the need for student devices.
Teacher asks a question, students hold up their custom Plicker card in the correct orientation. Teacher scans the room with their mobile device and is able to see which student correctly answered the question. Teacher then moves on to the next question.
