When searching for a communication tool different from those that were already reviewed by my peers above, I came across an EdTech blog that suggested "PollSnack" as a communication aid for teachers. Access to the website can be granted through an email sign-up or through most pre-set up social media accounts like twitter, edmodo, facebook and the like. The website is a simple poll or survey generator, but can be used in many different ways to communicate with students and parents, as well as creating dialogue between the students themselves. Polls and surveys can be created in any language, the data is compiled for you, and the links can be embedded in any other website for easy accessibility. Teachers can use PollSnack at the beginning of the year to learn more about their students, they can use the tool to set up unit pre- and post-assessments, encourage parent involvement and even create easy to use online quizzes for students. The quizzes, polls and surveys are easy to create, the website is very user-friendly and you can add as many questions as you want! I created a short sample quiz and embedded the link above for anyone to try out!
