The Digital Passport is a wonderful website that can also be linked to an existing Edmodo account as an app within in the website. Schools can sign up with larger accounts, or teachers can simply create single classes for free. The website provides web-based games and videos that can engage elementary students in learning about digital safety, respect and building safe online and offline communities. While many of the videos and activities are independent, the website also offers teacher resources that encourage collaborative whole-class activities. Online, students get to create a username, earn "badges" for completing activities and the reports are sent directly to the teachers' account. Teachers can integrate this into their classes as single lessons, or create a year-long curriculum with modules and corresponding activities to be completed over time. Also, students can download a printable workbook in English and Spanish. The website offers lessons for parents as well, which could be effective in maximizing the effectiveness of lessons ranging from internet safety, to cyber bullying, to copyright infringement/plagiarism and the difficulties of multitasking with many mobile devices. Below I have attached both the direct link to the website's educator resources, as well as an FAQ page from the website host, CommonSense.Org.
