Connectivity is displayed in negative and positive ways regarding the Ebola virus. The countries with known cases are Nigeria, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. There's a considerable gap between Nigeria and the other three, showing the negative aspect of mobilities and connectivity in regards to airlines and it spreading by intercepting multiple countries. Positive aspects are the US' quick efforts to treat the two affected American citizens by mediated mobilities, and it's overall isolation. The virus's status and symptoms also fairly well known around the world.
Mediated Mobilities show how Globalisation and Tech advancements have allowed the virus to bypass multiple countries and it possibly being spread, due to that.
This brought to light some benefits of having online friends that I didn't think of, including the fact that some of the social barriers formed in real life situations become almost irrelevant when communicating to 'strangers' online. This can lead to discussing 'deeper' topics.
