The Mathematics Enhancement Programme has been principally funded by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, but with contributions from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Esso, the Esmée Fairbairn Charity, Corus and the Garfield Weston Foundation. It was started in September 1995 and a full account of its origins and rationale is available from here.

We are a small but diverse team. Together we have many years of experience in teaching Mathematics at different levels and in different countries. Some of us are teachers - others are or have been involved in other aspects of education. Together we bring a wealth of expertise and illusion that we want to share with you all with this website.

31/8/08 - Although intended for KS3, there are PowerPoints aimed at boosting attainment from L3 to L4 and from L4 to L5; covering most of the mathematics curriculum.

19/08/2010 - How big are things really? This link takes you to the space page of a very interesting BBC site. Compare the size of the moon with any location on earth. There's plenty more besides, so well worth a quick look. Would also be quite useful for comparisons in mathematics.

Learning Clip is an online resource to support teachers, teaching assistants and parents implementing the renewed primary mathematics framework.

20/8/08 - Suitable for higher ability Y5 and Y6 children, these online lectures relate to almost every aspect of mathematics.

The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives (NLVM) is an NSF supported project that began in 1999 to develop a library of uniquely interactive, web-based virtual manipulatives or concept tutorials, mostly in the form of Java applets, for mathematics instruction (K-12 emphasis).

10/2/08 - Juliateacher, an expert teacher from the Times Educational Supplement web forum, has kindly shared many of her Literacy, Mathematics, ICT and assessment resources.

18/2/08 - "This site aims to provide teaching and learning resources to make the use of the interactive whiteboard in the classroom easier and more productive." At the moment, mainly mathematics but this should change. Good stuff...

9/9/07 - created for multiplication practice with two opposing teams. Simply select "a" or "b" to change the square colour to red or blue. The rules can be tailored as you need to - the document is protected but there is no password.

9/9/07 - Type in a width and a length and the computer will draw instantly a square matching your dimensions. Works from 1x1 to 15x15. The document is protected but there is no password.
