Formatting a Paper - 2 views

  •
This is a modification of the article on the same topic. The first slide shows how the various paragraph relate to one another. The main difference in my version is that I don't think that every paragraph needs a conclusion. Rather, there should be a link sentence to relate it to the next paragraph and more distantly the concluding paragraph. The next slides show two alternative ways in which supporting sentences can relate to the topic sentence.

Sync.in - 1 views

Sync.in is a web based word processor for people to collaborate in real-time. When multiple people edit the same document simultaneously, any changes are instantly reflected on everyone's screen. The result is a new and productive way to collaborate with text documents, useful for meeting notes, brainstorming, project planning, training, and more.

Writing in Art and Design - 2 views

This resource is intended to help students develop skills to improve their writing in Art and Design. I like how this site highlights "reading AS research" and "observing FOR research". There's also a lot of useful tips on how to do observation/formal analysis/writing reports/etc. The best part is it encourages the keeping of a visual journal - a cool way to mark observation as a tool for discovery in research in art and design. Most part are short and sweet or in point form and comes with diagrams and images.

Teaching Bibliography Entries - 0 views

  •
Health warning - this does NOT comply with NAFA's style guide, but I haven't had time to change the slide show in such a major way. The first three slides show students where they might find information needed for bibliographical entries. The following few slides show the conventions of the various types of paper and online publication. And the last few show how items in a bibliography should be arranged.

Aesthetics of Arts - Semester 3 or 4 - 1 views

  •
Here is the outline of the performing arts portion of the Aesthetics of Arts Module. I've revised the writing part to include time set aside to help students narrow down the areas within the topics they can present and write on. Techniques like question generation will be used. The grading rubric for writing has been tweaked to reflect greater emphasis on organization.
