Here is the outline of the performing arts portion of the Aesthetics of Arts Module. I've revised the writing part to include time set aside to help students narrow down the areas within the topics they can present and write on. Techniques like question generation will be used. The grading rubric for writing has been tweaked to reflect greater emphasis on organization.

Health warning - this does NOT comply with NAFA's style guide, but I haven't had time to change the slide show in such a major way. The first three slides show students where they might find information needed for bibliographical entries. The following few slides show the conventions of the various types of paper and online publication. And the last few show how items in a bibliography should be arranged.

After reading about the importance of outlines, I've decided that outlines should be required for any writing above say 2500 words. They should also be marked. The attached rubric is marking outlines. It should have a weighting of 15% of the overall marks.

This is a modification of the article on the same topic. The first slide shows how the various paragraph relate to one another. The main difference in my version is that I don't think that every paragraph needs a conclusion. Rather, there should be a link sentence to relate it to the next paragraph and more distantly the concluding paragraph. The next slides show two alternative ways in which supporting sentences can relate to the topic sentence.

This is an adaptation of HY's PPT. It is targeted at Y1 theatre / AME students towards the end of the 1st semester. It helps them distinguish between casual and academic writing.
