      I have found it ironic that we punish our kids with something that most assuredly hurts them (i.e., Our Americana kiddos NEED exercise perhaps more than any other nation in the world and yet we would take this ONE opportunity that encourages them to run around SAFELY OUTSIDE away from them).

      With research suggesting that kiddos are spending TOO much time in front of screens, it seems like an ethical conundrum for teachers in regards to technology. Such that, if teachers use more technology in their classrooms they will be better equipping their kiddos for their very digital-friendly futures (and perhaps engaging them a great deal more too). On the flip side, however, with so much screen time at home, it bothers me that screen time will increase within the school too. Hence, why I think this is our new great ethical/technological dilemma. Thoughts?

    Research suggests that small-group teaching is the most effective way of having new information learned. In addition, there is plenty of evidence suggesting that reading centers that focus on specific sub-skills are an excellent approach to teaching reading, comprehension, and fluency well. Therefore, I particularly benefit from this website, as it offers a wide variety of sub-skill targeted reading centers for kiddos in grades k through 5. Again, this is a WINNER of a site (with a lot(!) of resarch to back it up)!

      It would be interesting to do a longitudial study of the Silicon Valley School and a school that utilizes a great deal of technology, and evaluate each on student life satisfaction, test scores, teacher, student, parent 'happiness', etc. Essentially, I wonder which extreme school produces more well-rounded, better-adjusted students well-prepared for college?
