I don't agree that the age should be changed to 21 but I do believe that the tobacco and drinking age should be the same. It has good intentions but when people turn 18 and become an adult they are responsible for themselves and I don't think changing the tobacco age would stop people from still getting it. Underage people have found a way to get it regardless, so even if the age was changed an 18 year old would still ask a 22 year old to get it for him. Nothing would change.
I think this is very ethical, its just like a drug deal sting. Its a little weirder but it worked. There just trying to help and protect people, and by doing this they did, so in the end it is ethical because the only people who think that is unethical are the pedophiles being caught.
Everything about this is screwed up, the mom shouldn't be doing this in the first place, she's not teaching her kids anything about the world, if anything she's just holding them back. Also yes I could fully see a mill valley mom doing this. Sad
I agree with Jackie it make this guy look like a bad guy, the way they put so much negative vibes in about his parents saying that they don't condone this. I think they wrote it the right way giving both sides of it about how hes just out there trying to cheer people up, but also putting in quotes from college students saying that they don't like him and that hes to agressive.
It's pretty stupid to let school teachers carry guns, there are so manythings that can go wrong, maybe one of the kids gets their hands on it, maybe he drops it and it goes off, maybe he goes crazy. If they are preparing for something like what happened at sandy hook, their not doing it right, if a man comes in with a gun the teachers should not also be firing guns. If they really need guns maybe just have a couple in the back with safty locks on them.
I thought the story was really good, I really liked how they got all of the interveiwes and different sides of the stroy. One thing I think they could have done better is they changed the name of the TA who was cheeting, but they left all of the teachers names unchanged so it could be easy for the students to figure out who it was. I was a TA for Ms. Levine last year and she never really let me grade anything, so I dont even know why the redwood teachers would give their TA's that much freedom, I think its partly the teachers fault.
