I think that while the costume was disgusting and a joke in terrible taste, that death threats and involving the persons loved ones is always too far. This sort of thing tends to happen a lot online (see Boston Bombing). Where people send out death threats, and other horrible messages to a person that they don't like and it turns into a giant witch hunt. Obviously what this person did was wrong and uncalled for, but telling them to kill themselves and bringing in their family members is a step too far in my opinion.

This morning (11/4) a gunman walked into the Los Angeles Airport and opened fire on unarmed TSA officers. In the world we live in where airport security is taken so seriously here in the United States, what do you think this says about the TSA as an organization, as well as airport security as a whole? Does this make you think twice about how safe you are in an airport?

The fact this this sort of thing takes place is wrong enough. But the fact that its happening to mentally ill people is just terrible. Before I read this article, I had no idea that the mentally ill were so poorly treated and this has really given me some insight. It sort of reminds me of our elderly care system as well. As long as we sort of put them far away and make sure the public doesn't see, then the lack of care and proper treatment will go on for as long as we let it.

I enjoyed the article and thought that it really showed two opposing sides of Journalism. Personally I would have to lean more towards Greenwald, however I think Keller also makes valid points. Journalism will never be pure 100% fact without a hint of biased thrown in. While I would like to believe that it's possible, I think subconsciously its impossible to write without your viewpoints sort of showing through. But, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't try. An article should state both sides fairly and equally as it applies to the story at hand. If the facts are presented in a way that is fair and as unbiased as possible, then it should be the readers job to form their own personal opinions from that article.
