New York Times story about new parenting trend called "elimination communication." Do you think this story deserves coverage in a national publication, such as the New York Times? How can the Tam News discover new trends emerging in the local community?

I think it does merit coverage in the New York Times as it brings up some relevant points that can be applied to other parts of the nation, such as its latent critique of the upper middle class. The Tam News can stumble upon these sort of "new old science" trends by stepping out of its normal area of focus and get to know some of those that tend to move against the current.

I believe the topic does qualify to be published because it shines light on things that people would not normally know about. the fact that some "hipster" parents are boycotting the use of diapers intrigues me. The Tam News could use this as an example to investigate things of a more obscure nature.
