The US has put in alot of money to stop the war on drugs and yet no significant results have come from it. From the looks of Mexico's new president we wont be getting any results any time soon. Maybe it's time to legalize drugs and cut off the black market trade between Mexico and the US.

I agree that drug legalization would halt the cartels momentum but in turn cause more severe problems, such as younger and younger youths trying harder and harder drugs. The more readily available they are and more apparent they become in our society the temptation for them only increases. Back to the main point though, I don't feel that Mexico's new regulations will really change anything regarding the U.S. and Cartel relations.
