I think that if these "smartwatches" are tested as much as the Google Glass is/was, it has the potential to be an effective piece of technology. I liked the video with peoples' reactions to the Google Glass as well and the funny reactions that were made to this strange concept of having a holographic system infront of you.

The article makes an interesting point, but I can't imagine someone actually enjoying themselves when they are constantly being updated by their social networks. I can imagine a brief period where people would use this technology, but I think it would end up being more aggravating that useful.

I think this product is just allowing us to become more and more lazy with our technology. I understand when needing to know the time it is inconvenient to have to reach in to your pocket and pull out a watch rather than just having one on your wrist. However, do we really need such easy access to something like your Twitter account or other social networking apps? I don't think people are suffering from having to reach into their pocket to access their cellphones. I do see how it could be handy to not have to, but honestly is it something we really need? I agree with Cody that at first it would blow up and be cool and used often but in the end people would probably get annoyed with their constant connection to social networks and we would slowly lose all personal time if someones wearing a pair of Google Glasses 24/7.

This product sounds very interesting, but part of the reason people wear watches is to look classy and stylish but when you watch is a piece of tech, it takes some swag away

I think this is a death wish for apple because up til now, although they don't have all the perks that droids have, they can sell their simplicity factor year after year after year. If they make this move, It will be much less convenient to have a phone in your pocket along with the watch on your wrist. I believe this will be a huge turnoff to customers and I will start converting people to droid.

The technology is definitely there for the easy production of a smart watch. The newest iPod nano is the same size as some of the watches people are fashioning these days. The question is whether the market is there. Unfortunately, I think that we may have skipped the smart watch step. Phones have the same exact application and are equally practical. The next step is the Google Glass, not the iWatch. Once again, I think that Apple's newest gadget will become obsolete in very little time.

Samsung is set to announce a 'smartwatch' within the next month or two, but I really don't see why. It's helpful to have basic access to apps/time on your wrist but it's not the future. I've used Google Glass before and it was incredible, and as Riley said, the next step in technology.
