 there now is an edtech app store! Well, it's more like an app directory but you get the point. It's called edshelf and is an easy-to-use directory all the great web 2.0 tools out there just waiting for educators to try them out. You can share your experience with the tools, add your own, store a 'shelf' of your favorite tools, and more.

The Web 2.0ERC European Union funded project is designed to help educators who find ICT confusing to have a simple and secure environment to use ICT in their work and in their classes. The project project has built a simple web platform that includes the most popular tools (Wikis, Blogs, communications, Social Networking etc.) with clear guides on: How to use the toolsHow they can be used in educationThe platform is currently undergoing final piloting and adjustments, and will be available soon. The project has also looked at other Web 2.0 tools that can be used to create content, share the content and communicate. Members of the Web2.0ERC Community of Practice have contributed to the repository of tools.All the work of the project has been piloted with the target groups of the project and the resources produced adapted based on the piloting.

If you're not an avid follower of #edchat on Twitter, you may be missing out on a great opportunity to learn about some new Web 2.0 tools that are currently being used in classrooms around the world. That's because @chickensaltash posed a simple question to the PLN and there has been a huge swell of support as hundreds of people have jumped in to answer the question about which 5 Web 2.0 tools teachers are using in classrooms.

The ICT4U-project aims to enable educators that want to have a more intensive use of ICT in their classroom. Twitter is an online social networking tool in which users post 140 character updates of what is going on in their lives along with links to things they think are interesting, funny, or useful to their followers ("following" being essentially what "friending" is on other sites). People use twitter in many ways, some as a newsfeed by following prominent people or networks, some as a pseudo-chatroom by limiting their followers and whom they follow to close friends and family, and some as a microblog for updating people about the work they are doing and their personal lives.

PDFVue is a new online application for annotating and editing PDF files online. It can open PDF files right in your browser without the need of special software. Using PDFVue you can fill PDF forms, add text, highlight text, add sticky notes, draw lines, add shapes, images, links and stamps. Edited PDF files can be saved to your computer or shared with others by forwarding a link. There is also browser add-on which can automatically open any PDF link you come across on PDFVue.

the TESiboard collection is a purpose built library of visual, dynamic, interactive resources. TESiboard resources are primarily open-ended tools that enable teachers to enagage their pupils in a learning dialogue around the resource. The resources are designed for use by the teacher on their interactive whiteboard but many are also suitable for pupil use, usually responding to a task or challenge set by the teacher.

You go to the Twitter Friends Map tool on Visual.ly (a great repository of interesting infographics and other multimedia) and then click the 'connect' button on the bottom right of your screen. Wait about 20 seconds and then start watching the people you follow magically appear on the Google map.

NTS aims to use ICTs as a tool to make the learning of science subjects more attractive and accessible. The project target groups are students from the general and vocational schools aged 13 to 18; teachers in science subject,plus college & university students attending science education courses (prospective school teachers in sciences) The project will establish a Virtual Lab, as an experimental virtual aid to science learning. This will serve as a platform for science lessons, as a database of teaching materials and as a hub for science-learning-related graphic aids and recorded and illustrated appealing experiments on Nano-Tech. It will include a Nano-Science Center, presenting to learners and their in-service or future teachers the miracles of the nano-technologies. A program for a week Science Camp training including hands-on experiments and demonstrations will be developed and delivered through the VL, this is a good step as an approbation of the contents and functionalities of the virtual lab.

Historiana is an initiative of EUROCLIO, the European Association of History Educators and the Netherlands Institute for Heritage, in which an online, interactive, multimedia tool will be developed on the learning and teaching of common themes in history
