This is a short article from the Advanced Healthcare Network for Occupational Therapy Practitioners. It reviews 5 steps to strive for to develop professional behavior including looking the part, the importance of correct grammar, excepting tasks and challenges with a head on approach, showing respect to others, and accepting accountability to mistakes or mishaps. I liked this article because it reviewed several aspects of professionalism that I think many people tend to forget as they move through their career. As a fieldwork student it is essential to always practice professionalism but it is still just as important to continue to practice this as we gain experience in the field. I thought showing respect to others and accepting accountability for your mistakes were two points that really show professional behavior. As they say, the therapy world is small, you want to make a good impression on all that you encounter.
