After an exciting triumph over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Feroz Shah Kotla, the Delhi Capitals (DC) will lock horns with Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their home ground Mohali. Their certainty must be incredibly high now however it will be an immense trial of the young guns facing the Punjab based establishment with the top batsmen like Chris Gayle and KL Rahul in their best form. KXIP crushed the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday and the home favorable position is unquestionable with them.

Shreyas Iyer played an absolute cracker of an innings in his first game as a skipper. Iyer's leadership also was mighty impressive, but he'll not let complacency settle in. The Mumbai lad will want to put his head down, take one game at a time and hope that all his captaincy decisions work in DD's favour. CSK vs DD, a crucial game for DD for an ascent up the table and for CSK a chance to get one step closer to yet another playoff qualification.

Kings XI Punjab are one of the eight teams that were a part of the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League and are also one of the two teams that have not won the desired title. Their record over the years in the IPL hasn't been the greatest. The team from Punjab played the finals of the IPL only once, back in 2014. Two-time IPL champions KKR have appointed former Australian cricketer David Hussey as their chief mentor. Hussey, who earlier played for KKR between 2008-10, joins head coach Brendon McCullum in the set-up. Besides Hussey, KKR also appointed former Kiwi pacer Kyle Mills as the bowling coach.

The IPL 2020 auction is being held in Kolkata on Thursday. Several international stars received mega bids as franchises set the floor rolling. Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹ 15.50 crore. Fellow Aussie, Glenn Maxwell, was sold to KXIP for ₹ 10.75 crore.
