Interesting, I did not know that, not that I need to worry about that yet
  • Eating Breakfast Out
  • choose the apples, pears, grapefruits, strawberries, and/or blueberries because they are lower in sugar. Avoid fruit juices because they are filled with excess sugar, calories, and sodium.
  • Rule 2:  Eat slowly and savor each bit. Enjoy the conversation at the table. Put your knife and fork down between bites. Don’t pick it up again until you've completely swallowed the last bite - allow your body time to digest.

Meat the Truth - Part 1 of 8 - YouTube - 0 views

WOW! This video is absolutely mind-blowing. At he beginning I did wonder how meat was going to tie into global warming, but it's absolutely appalling to find out that livestock produces more pollution than transport around the world. This video is one of many on youtube, and it shows us how we are all the ones to blame for global warming as well. Our demands for meat have lead to immediate production of "synthesized" meat that may taste juicier to us, but is actually really bad for our health. The decisions we make for our diet affect our health and the environment, so always think twice.

  • The American Academy of Pediatrics points out that often teens tell themselves that they need to lose weight, get better grades, score more points in the game and prove themselves to their parents
  • Many teens feel different from their peers and never feel good enough. Self esteem can suffer another blow if they are made to feel inferior, different or are made fun of by others.

Will Lifting Weights Stunt My Growth? - 0 views

  •
To "stunt your growth", the growth plates of the human body must be injured. The most common being overuse injures or even a fall/blow to the limb - causing bone fractures. Bone infections, extreme cold, radiations and certain medications, neurological disorders and metabolic disease also can cause growth plate injuries. So what are growth plates? The growth plates are areas of growing tissue near the end of bones. Growth plates are located on the long bones of children and young people. Each long bone has at least two growth plates-one at each end. This is where the long bones grow. When young people finish growing, the growth plates close and are replaced by solid bone. Thus injuries to the growth plates are especially dangerous for adolescents. Halting the growth of a child is undesirable and thus should be avoided(duh). Paranoid parents becoming more aware thus began questioning whether weight lifting could stunt the growth of their children.
