Bringing technology into the classroom almost always comes with a learning curve. Some teachers joke that their students picked up tech skills more easily than they did, and others still just don't get the training they need to effectively use the technology tools that they are given for their classrooms. So when you get an iPad (or iPads) for your classroom, what do you do now?

Thanks Terri. I really like Diigo a lot as it is such a great way to spread the word about wonderful resources like these. I also like the weekly blog/digest that is sent it. I find it very helpful.

BYOD classrooms can address a number of issues. It can solve the problem of not having enough (or any) devices for your classroom. It can enable students to do web-based work when they might not have otherwise been able to. It can allow them to do work on the same device at home and at school.

This seems to have a tutorial for everything you can do with Google Docs!

SafeShare is a website that takes YouTube videos and gets rid of almost ALL of the advertisements and junk around the main video. Safeshare even removes the ads that are often showed before popular videos. Using it is VERY simple and I really don't know why I did not convert all my videos before now. All you do is copy the YouTube link and paste it into Shafeshare.tv (see image below) Then you are given a new link to use instead of the YouTube link. Save that to your favorites and you are set.

Re: 15 Sites for Finding Images and Clip Art for Education Finding usable images online is a greater challenge than it first seems. Many sites that appear to have, or even claim to have, usable images often times do not.

Millennials live and breathe on social media, so teachers are learning how to incorporate the medium into the classroom successfully. In doing so, teachers not only encourage students to engage actively in the material, but they also provide online communities for students that might not exist for them in real life.

This is a British site, but luckily we do speak the same language. I just had to check out what they call Whizzy things, these are web 2.0 tools you can use. Isn't it great that we can start collaborating with our teaching peers "across the pond"?
