MyClassroomIdeas.com is a Pinterest-like site for teachers to discover and share pictures of classroom design elements like bulletin boards, reading corners, and door decorations. Any teacher can register and share his or her ideas with the community. If you just want to browse for ideas, there are seven galleries that you can browse through.

Kikutext is a service that makes it easy for teachers to communicate with parents using text messaging so students perform better.

Teacher Planet is a site that has a huge collection of links, resources, lesson plans, templates, rubrics, worksheets and more. The resources are sorted by subject and type and there are some really good resources available. Many of the resources are links to external sites.

Edcanvas is a free service that makes it easy for teachers to organize and share educational materials in a visually pleasing format. The "canvas" part of Edcanvas is where you arrange videos, links, images, and files around any topic of your choosing. Edcanvas has built-in search tools so that you do not have to leave your Edcanvas account in order to locate resources. 

Opus is a new service that aims to help middle school mathematics teachers discover sample math problems aligned to Common Core standards. To find problems on Opus search by entering a topic and selecting a grade. You can also find problems by clicking the "browse the Core directly" link on the Opus homepage. Either way when you find a problem you can save it to your free Opus account where you can then generate a Word doc or Google Document of all of your saved problems. You can also create an answer sheet in your Opus account.

"SpeakPipe is a service that allows visitors to your blog to leave you voice messages without picking up a phone. With SpeakPipe installed on your blog anyone can click on the "send voicemail" button and leave a message for you. When a visitor clicks the "leave voicemail" button she will be prompted to allow access to her computer. Then the visitor can start recording a message for you. Visitors can, but don't have to, enter their names and email addresses for you. "Fakebook" allows teachers and students to create imaginary profile pages for study purposes.

Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers to engage their classrooms through a series of educational exercises and games via smartphones, laptops, and tablets.

This site is a free resource maintained by Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA.  It contains resources, lessons, activities, games, puzzles, etc. for teachers and students.

This is a tool to allow teachers or students present a collection of online "artifacts".  Kind of like a virtual interactive diarama.

Gooru is a new service that aims to provide teachers and students with an extensive collection of videos, interactive displays, documents, diagrams, and quizzes for learning about topics in math and science. As a Gooru member you have access to hundreds of resources according to subject areas such as chemistry, biology, ecology, algebra, calculus, and more. Within each subject area you can look for resources according to media type such as video, interactive display, slides, text, and lesson plans. When you find resources that you want to use, drag them to the resources folder within your account. Gooru also offers you the option to add resources to your folders even if you did not find them within Gooru"

Math Open Reference is a free online reference for geometry teachers and students. Math Open Reference features animated and interactive drawings to demonstrate geometry terms and concepts. The table of contents on Math Open Reference is divided into four basic categories; plane geometry, coordinate geometry, solid geometry, and function explorer tools

Study Stream is a new service for learning to read and speak Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Portuguese. Study Stream takes an interesting approach to helping people learn these languages. The centerpiece of the Study Stream system is a collection of videos and articles in the language that you're trying to learn. The videos and articles are accompanied by side-by-side translations to help you follow along. "BioInteractive is a site from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) that provides free resources for science teachers and students. The site has videos, lectures, animations, links, downloads, lesson ideas, virtual labs and much more. You can even order DVD's of many of their programs for free. The virtual labs include: Transgenic Fly, Cardiology, Bacteria, Neurophysiology, and Immunology. The materials were developed by educators and scientists and are excellent."

A collection of articles, journals, videos and other resources on the Common Core

Padlet used to be called Wallwisher, but it got a makeover and a name change recently. It's essentially a virtual board with sticky notes that can be easily moved, shared and embedded. There are several views, including something that looks more like a scrollable blog and it's easy to both personalize the experience and organize notes. The privacy and moderation settings make it easy for students to become members of a board where a teacher can post resources and encourage them to do the same.

History Animated is a great resource for US History teachers and students. History Animated provides animations of the American Revolution, the US Civil War, WWII in Europe, and the US Pacific Campaign in WWII. In each of the sets of animations you will see the animated movement of armies displayed on a map. Each animation is accompanied by captions describing the strategies of the armies as well as the results and consequences of each battle.
